The dog is still waiting in the empty hospital bed, not knowing that the owner has passed away.

A touching photo of a dog waiting for its owner beside an empty hospital bed proves that dogs are among the most loving creatures in the world. A photograph taken of the horrific incident quickly went viral on social media.

The shelter was complete, and no one wanted to adopt Moose, a three-year-old Labrador mix so that he would be euthanized. Fortunately, Moose found a new home after being adopted by Randolph, New Jersey’s last-minute rescue.

The grieving dog finally found a home, but a year later, his father died from cancer. However, Moose was unaware that his father had passed away; all he knew was the need to wait. He’s sure his beloved human will never return, but he still believes in miracles.

Heartbroken Eleventh Hour Rescue volunteers moved quickly to get Moose to his haven. Everyone at the shelter loved moose much, and they made every effort to get him into a home as soon as possible.

According to Executive Committee member Linda Barish, Eleventh Hour Rescue’s position is “that we take dogs back regardless of the owner’s death.” We had no idea this would happen in a million years.

NorthStar Pet Rescue and Eleventh Hour Rescue have put Moose’s story and photo online to locate a foster or foster family nearby. Thousands of comments were posted online in response to the image.

Eleventh Hour Rescue wrote on Facebook that Moose, unaware that “Dad” had passed away, waited peacefully at his father’s hospital bedside for his return.

When the image gained popularity online, they were flooded with requests to adopt Moose. Three days later, Moose was adopted by his new forever family, according to Eleventh Hour Rescue.

The effect of social media led to Moose finding him forever home. Watch the video below to learn more about what happened to Moose.

Dogs have feelings, and Moose’s endearing image shows that they can even be more compassionate than people. Please inform your loved ones about this terrible event!
