The survival energy of a dog without two hind legs
Putol, a poor 6-year-old dog, was abandoned at birth due to a disability in his hind legs. Fortunately, Putol was adopted by Danilo Codilego Jr., who lives in Casiguran, Philippines.
“I met Putol six years ago while he was working at a bakery. One day, a colleague brought four dogs to the store and tried to sell them for 5,000 pesos (about 6.2 million VND). Other beautiful dogs were sold one by one; only Putol remained because he was born with two hind legs amputated. Nobody wants to keep it; even the owner wants to throw it away. At that time, he needed to take care of this poor dog.
I can’t think of any other suitable name to give it except Putol. For the first two years of his life, Putol had trouble moving, but it wasn’t easy because he only had two legs. However, he quickly learned to balance on his front legs. What an energetic dog! Putol’s life is now wholly unhindered,” the Putol owner said.
“Putol tries to be as protective of me as he can; he always barks when a stranger walks in. He also gets jealous when I play with another dog. Putol is quite friendly and well-liked in the neighborhood. Whenever I go to work, people often help me take care of Putol. The only sad thing is that due to a congenital disability, Putol cannot have children,” said Danilo.
